01 January, 2014: Customers renting one of the Classic Cottages properties in Devon this winter will be spoilt for choice when it comes to town-centre Christmas-related activities. The town of Newton Abbott alone has enough planned to satisfy even the most demanding Classic Cottages patron. Starting mid-November and running right up until the prime Christmas season, Newton Abbott's town centre will be completely devoted to holiday-themed activities.

Perhaps the main attraction for avid Christmas shoppers will be the late night Christmas Fayre, to be held on two separate Wednesdays at the top of Queen Street. The road will be closed off and stalls selling everything from traditional foods to crafts will be set up for the event that should prove as popular as last year's.

As usual, along with the stalls, the event will also provide a dose of entertainment for the whole family. The first Fayre will be kicked off by the ever-popular Victorian night, while the second will see the debut of the Lantern Parade, attended by children from all of the primary schools in the region. The pupils will be carrying lantern puppets of their own making, manufactured in special school workshops that will take place throughout the month of November. This parade will depart from Bearnes School and proceed across Queen Street and the Christmas Fayre grounds to the town's centre piece, the Clock Tower, where the children will join the Mayor of the town in an open-air carol service.

Incidentally, the Clock Tower is also where the next big event in Newton Abbott's Christmas season will take place. None other than Father Christmas will appear at the top of the iconic building on November 16th, before proceeding to the town centre to switch on the Christmas lights in an event that should delight children of all ages.

Other events taking place in the Newton Abbott town centre during the months of November and December include an exhibit of live animals, with reindeer, micro pigs and hawks. Overall, there is more than enough reason for Classic Cottages patrons to make a winter booking for normally summer-centric Devon.
