Upcoming Winter Events in Morzine Set to Tempt Skiers

19, November 2014: The ski season is nearly here and the ski lifts will officially be open very soon. For anyone who is thinking about booking a catered chalet, Morzine in the French Alps is a great option. As well as excellent skiing and superb chalets, there are many exciting events taking place over the coming months. 

Christmas is a great time to book your catered chalet. Morzine will have plenty of fun events going on in the build-up to the big day. In the week before Christmas, for example, visitors can head to the Enchanted Forest in Les Gets to see Father Christmas and follow the magic trail. He will also be seen around the village at various times. 

On Christmas Eve there will also be a parade, dancers, performers and more, as well as a large fireworks display after dark. There will also be a range of musical performances and a number of children's shows in the run-up to Christmas. 

New Year is traditionally a busy time in Morzine, and it is a popular time of year to book a catered chalet. Morzine has plenty of bars and restaurants that will all have their own special events and parties. (Visitors are advised to book their places in advance if they want to visit a particular restaurant or bar.) The town centre has an official countdown to the New Year at midnight. 

Next event on the calendar is the Grand Odyssee in January, which is the biggest husky race in Europe, starting in Les Gets. The competitors cross through numerous resorts over 10 days as they travel across the Alps, and spectators can see the best mushers direct their teams of dogs across the snow. 

With all the exciting events taking place in Morzine and the surrounding area in December and January, visitors are advised to book their accommodation early to avoid disappointment.
