International Runners to Compete in Jamaican Reggae Marathon

The annual Jamaican Reggae Marathon is a major event, which will begin in the city of Negril on the 6th of December this year. Before the event kicks off, participants and spectators will be able to boost their energy reserves by tucking into a tasty assortment of dishes during the World Pasta Party, held on December 5th. The international attendees will be hoping to gain a competitive advantage in the race for the Bob Marley trophy and a share of the $10,000 prize pot. This means that fitness enthusiasts have a lot of opportunities to improve their physical condition and their time as they prepare for the big race in December."

The professional and amateur athletes will have the opportunity to warm up while listening to upbeat reggae tunes played by the talented local musicians. Carnival rhythms can also be enjoyed by the spectators who line the streets from Negril to Orange Bay. Local volunteers will be on hand to distribute drinks and ensure that the athletes receive medical attention, if required - rehydration will be absolutely essential in the expected warm temperatures.

All the athletes will receive commemorative medals, official T-shirts and certificates upon completion of the gruelling marathon. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of Jamaican concoctions at the Beach Bash in Negril afterwards.

There is still some time for prospective runners to register for a place via the official Marathon Reggae website.
