Upcoming Festive Events Scheduled Around Tuscany

25, November 2014: Anyone who has booked Italian vacation accommodation in Tuscany over the winter period can look forward to a host of upcoming festivals and events to attend.

Those staying in Italian vacation accommodation in any of the popular Tuscan cities will enjoy the illuminations of multi-coloured Christmas lights. An assortment of sweet festive treats and souvenirs will be on offer, and family groups will be guaranteed some winter cheer at luxurious Tuscan apartments and hotels, such as the Fattoria San Martino and Villa Armena.

Florence and Pisa

Excitement builds as the Florence Noel Festival begins from the end of November through to early December. Children will be given the opportunity to meet Santa and his merry helpers at grottos, while local schools and amateur dramatic groups will stage entertaining versions of the nativity play. Traditional Tuscan tunes will be played and traditional festive-style cuisine will be served at many popular local venues. Visitors with a passion for Tuscan culture may be tempted to book tickets for upcoming performances at the Church of St Ignazio de Loyola and Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta.

Those holidaymakers booked into Italian vacation accommodation who are keen to spend their money could be tempted to visit the traditional German markets in Florence or Pisa. International sellers gather in the wooden huts of the Mercato Tedesco di Natale and offer a variety of reasonably priced handicrafts and food. Shoppers may also be tempted by the range of internationally sourced foods available in the well-known Santa Croce Piazza, in Florence. A tour of the Father Christmas Factory in Pisa will be the highlight for many young visitors to the region.

Barga

Tuscan Christmas celebrations continue with a specially organised pageant through the streets of Barga on December 23rd. Large crowds are also expected to gather for the torchlight procession and musical performances on Christmas Eve. Bar and restaurant owners will be kept busy as a host of international tourists join the local residents in festive celebration. Many will remain for the all night New Years Eve and Tuscan Epiphany celebrations in the delightful town.
