25, November 2014: 2014 has seen the specialist wildlife travel company, Naturetrek, introduce three more departure dates for its successful Brahmaputra river cruise. This fabulous cruise takes in the Kaziranga, Nameri and Orang National Parks and also offers guests the opportunity to sail through local tribal lands and enjoy a deeply cultural experience.

From the comfort of a fully equipped Naturetrek riverboat, travellers can escape the heat and hassle that travelling in India often brings with it; they'll also have the opportunity to appreciate this part of beautiful Assam from a very different perspective. As the cruise makes it way up the river, many wonderful and exciting species of wildlife will can be sighted, including the Indian One-horned Rhinoceros, Indian Elephant, Water Buffalo, Hog Deer and Hoolock Gibbon. Participants may even catch a glimpse of the Gangetic Dolphin, which is now an endangered species.

Birdlife is no less prolific in the region, and for bird watching fans, the Pallas’ Fishing Eagle, the Bengal Florcian and the Ibisbill are among the many resident species worth looking out for.

Naturetrek presents this river cruise not just as one that boasts incredible wildlife, but one that holds great cultural intrigue as well. The Hindu monasteries and charming tribal villages, such as the village of Mising, contribute to making this trip a magical 14-day adventure.

This trip costs from £3,295 pp. (based on two sharing an ‘en suite’ upper deck cabin) and including return flights (London), most meals, excursions (such as elephant rides and jeep safaris), all transfers and the services of a Naturetrek tour leader and expert local guides.

There is the chance to extend the trip with six extra days in Sunderbans, the world’s largest delta and mangrove swamp, renowned for its waterbirds and Tigers. This costs from £795 pp. (two sharing).
