Island Watch Travels Key West, FL to Design a Wood Watch Series

Island Watch Co. was started due to the founder’s love of the islands and ocean. When designing a new island style wood watch series, the Island Watch Co. crew always travels to a new island destination and spends some time there learning the island, culture, cuisine and overall vibe so that it can be incorporated into the design of the island style wooden watch . Island Watch Co. founder Dallas Alford commented by saying “We are never in a hurry when we design one of our new island style wooden watches. Our team takes the time to absorb the feeling we get when we visit a particular island and we incorporate that when we design a new watch series. Alford also stated that Island Watch Co. is 100% committed to the natural environment that island enthusiasts love so much. To show their commitment, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each wooden watch is donated to Oceana, a non-profit organization that is focused on preserving the world’s oceans. Island Watch Co. founder Dallas Alford says, “Island Watch Co. is proud of their partnership with Oceana and is 100% committed to restoring our world’s oceans”. In addition to their contributions to Oceana, when the Island Watch Co. crew travels to an island destination, they seek out local conservation groups to learn how they can potentially make an impact on the local environment while on the island whether it is a monetary contribution or volunteering in some manner.

While in Key West, FL the Island Watch Co. crew visited the Dolphin Research Center and The Turtle Hospital and were excited about what both organizations were doing locally to preserve the marine environment.

When Alford was asked what the Key West island style wood watch is going to look like, he just grinned and said “At this point we are still designing it but we think it may be designed around fishing since Key West and the surrounding keys are such a popular fishing destination.”
