Motivational Speaker Derrick Kirk Victim of False Ripoff Report

Derrick Kirk has made it his mission to inspire others through his own remarkable true story of overcoming obstacles. He has quickly risen to the ranks of an acclaimed motivational speaker, with those who revere Kirk’s capabilities citing his candor and powerful message centered on perseverance as contributing factors to his impact.

Yet, Kirk’s lessons have recently been put to the test in his own life. A meritless grievance has been filed against him on the popular complaint website, Ripoff Report. Prior to becoming a motivational speaker, Kirk owned an events and promotions company. In November 2017, a former client of this company claimed that services promised by Kirk were not rendered after payment was made.

“It’s a little embarrassing and also infuriating to have this false complaint out there about me,” Kirk said. “I hold myself to such a high standard of integrity, and for something like this to possibly undermine that is exasperating. I can only assume that this deceitful Ripoff Report was an attempt to ruin my reputation. I held up my end of the bargain, and the client decided to come after me because events did not transpire as he’d hoped.”

Ripoff Report admits that it cannot attest to the truthfulness of accusations on its site, with this disclaimer on the homepage:

Ripoff Report® is a worldwide consumer reporting Web site and publication, by consumers, for consumers, to file and document complaints about companies or individuals. While we encourage and even require authors to only file truthful reports, Ripoff Report does not guarantee that all reports are authentic or accurate.

Kirk just hopes that this issue does not diminish his impact as a motivational figure.

“It’s unfortunate,” he said. “I’ve worked extremely hard to get where I am. I’m now at a point where I know that I can use what I’ve been through to help others, and I want to do that. To anyone who comes across that false report, I’d just ask them to give me a chance and not allow it to negatively influence their perception of me.”

As a motivational speaker, Kirk emphasizes the importance of persevering and maintaining an advantageous perspective in all things, no matter how difficult. Now, he must take his own advice.
