Courageous Inc. Presents the Detroit Soul Day Festival 2019

Courageous Inc. is excited to announce it will be holding the first ever annual Detroit Soul Day Festival at the Joseph Walker Williams Community Center. The event which is scheduled to hold on the 12th of July, 2019 seeks to recognize and honor the achievements of the original founder of Detroit Soul day, Pee Wee Clarence Harris. A humble and selfless community leader, Clarence (Peewee) Harris was one of the key members of Forum 66, which organized the historic first and second Black Arts conventions at Central United Church of Christ (later known as Shrine of the Black Madonna #1) in 1966 and 1967.

The Detroit Soul Day 2019 Festival is open to the public and promises to be one of the largest celebrations of black culture. It will be a night of unforgettable soul music, dance, and food. The event will be family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free and will be a great avenue for community members to meet and network. The founder and president of Courageous Inc. believe that one of the most effective ways to build a community is to strengthen families and children. And that is what the Soul Day Festival is all about.

There will be top musical performances from popular bands like Larry Lee & The Back in the Day Band as well as The Marvelettes. Local soul artists are also not left out as the festival will feature a soul day talent show.
