Former Motorola Global marketing director joins mobile startup

Jim McGough is a new Board Member at Gideon Multimedia

Croatian mobile startup, Gideon Multimedia, announced a new addition to its Board. Gideon hired Jim McGough, former director of global marketing at Motorola, as a Board Member for sales and marketing. In his new position Mr. McGough will be primarily focused on global expansion of Gideon's award-winning project mobiEXPLORE - innovative mobile guide.

Jim McGough received his MBA at Thunderbird, Graduate School of International Management, after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. McGough was previously a global director at Motorola where he was responsible for the company's B2C (business to consumer) Interactive Marketing, eCommerce, Marketing Innovation including strategy, programs, and execution. Prior to Motorola, he was a director at Volkswagen of America where his leadership roles included Head of Marketing and Director of eBusiness for the Audi brand. Jim's career started at Citibank where he rose to a VP of marketing after participating in the bank management training program.

Gideon Mutimedia has successfully launched mobiEXPLORE UK, in partnership with VistiBritain (www.visitbritain.com/mobile). Project mobiEXPLORE UK has recently won "Silver Communicator Award 2009"for direct marketing, awarded by International Academy for Visual Arts. IAVA jury panel included executives from organizations such as, Disney, MTV, Sotheby's, Wired, and Yahoo!, and 2009 Communicator Awards had over 7 thousand entries. It is interesting that Award Statuettes' are hand-made by the same firm that produces the Oscar and Emmy Awards.
