The civil society organizes itself into Good Governance Council, the First of its kind in Pakistan, to propagate, promote and pursue good governance in the federal, provincial and district governments, the public sector corporations and the statutory bodies tasked to provide public services to the citizens.

For the first time in the 60-year history of Pakistan, the civil society organizes itself into Good Governance Council to propagate, promote and pursue good governance in the federal, provincial and district governments, the public sector corporations and the statutory bodies tasked to provide public services. It is set to lead the way to meet the Challenge of Change in the 21st century Pakistan.

GGC will identify, analyze and intrepret public issues in the spheres of internal and external security, terrorism, extremism, law enforcement, economy, judicial justice, social justice, economic justice, civil liberties, human rights, poverty alleviation, unemployment, provision of education, health, transport, and basic amenities for the citizens of Pakistan and will recommend solutions to the relevant authorities for policy making.

GGC will seek remedy from the executive, legislature, and judiciary through lawful means to provide relief to the aggrieved citizens and approach the mass media to highlight public issues, create awareness among the concerned citizens and solicit public support.

GGC will have representatives on its Board of Advisors, Central Executive Committee and the Federal Council from all the segments of the society including the scholars, educationists, researchers, parliamentarians, retired civilian and military bureaucrats, retired judges, businessmen and industrialists, working journalists and electronic media anchor persons, civil society organizations, human rights organizations and so on.

GGC will seek alliances with world-renowned civil society organizations to strengthen good governance not only in Pakistan but also in other parts of the world.

GGC is preceded by the Good Governance Forum, founded in 2007 by Mumtaz A. Piracha, who is now the Founder of the GGC as well, to launch the first ever web-based campaign for the restoration of the deposed judges, induction of democracy and lifting of emergency in Pakistan. The Forum is indexed at # 3 position out of 13 million listings under good governance forum on the World's #1 search engine Google.

GGC is looking up to civil society activists, fund-raisers and philanthropists across the globe to join in the struggle to meet the Challenge of Change in Pakistan and to bring peace and prosperity in the volatile region encompassing Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Russia, Central Asian Republics, Iran and China.
