Securities Commission Malaysia will host the inaugural World Capital Markets Symposium on August 10-11, 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is in line with Malaysia’s commitment to promote more in-depth discussion on capital market challenges and Asian perspectives on the global reform agenda in response to the global financial crisis.

The Symposium will have special sessions featuring finance ministers from the region and capital market regulators from around the world discussing policy and regulatory responses to the global financial crisis.

Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Tun Razak will deliver a keynote address on the first day of the Symposium, while a second keynote address will be delivered by the Crown Prince of Perak, His Royal Highness Raja Dr Nazrin Shah (who is also the Financial Ambassador to the Malaysia Islamic Financial Center) on the final day.

Influential opinion leaders and leading capital market practitioners who will be speaking at the Symposium include:
