Sons of American Revolution Orange County votes unanimously to appoint Douglas Pettibone

Anaheim, CA. January 17, 2017 - The Sons of American Revolution-Orange County (SAR) voted unanimously today to appoint, Orange County Attorney, Douglas J. Pettibone as its next Chancellor.

SAR is a patriotic and historical organization that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom. SAR was first organized in 1889 and is composed of lineal descendants of the patriots who supported the cause of American Independence.

Douglas Pettibone has been an Orange County trial attorney since 1988. He is also the current President of ASBO (Anaheim Small Business Organization).

He will assume his new duties as effective Feb. 1st, 2017.

“It is truly my privilege to accept this appointment and it is with sincere gratitude to the President of SAR, to the selection committee and to the SAR board,” Pettibone stated after its vote, “It’s an honor to serve such a great and patriotic organization such as the Sons of American Revolution as its next chancellor.”

As Chancellor Pettibone will provide advice and action on legal issues relating to the SAR.

Pettibone will succeed Chancellor John Dodd, Esq., who is going to serve SAR as a state representative.

The Board’s vote caps a search process that ended in December 2016 when it approved the criteria for the chancellor’s position.
