There are two main types of repair/splicing methods for rubber conveyor belts, cold vulcanization and hot vulcanization. Cold fluidization mainly uses chemical adhesives for repair and splicing, while hot vulcanization requires the use of a vulcanizer for splicing and repair.

Since cold vulcanization will not be restricted by the site and equipment, it not only has the characteristics of convenience and speed, but also occupies relatively small space, and the equipment used is relatively simple. However, repairing the rubber conveyor belt by this method will have more obvious joint marks and a relatively large loss of strength. It is only suitable for the repair of the small area layer of the relatively light rubber fabric core conveyor belt and the splicing of the joints. It can be carried out on site underground.

The application range of thermal vulcanization is relatively wide, not only for steel cord conveyor belts and rubber, but also for PVC/PVG conveyor belts.

Hot vulcanization has four characteristics:

The strength after splicing is relatively high
No obvious joints
Has relatively small strength loss
The surface is relatively flat

However, its requirements for equipment are relatively high. In the process of repairing, it must be carried out on a vulcanizing machine. Not only does the repairing cycle take a long time, but it occupies a large space range and is suitable for splicing in conveyor belt repair shops.

Cold vulcanized material

One is the main component of the chemical adhesive used for cold vulcanization of conveyor belts. The main component is neoprene, modified with phenolic resin, and after the corresponding mixing and chemical reaction, it is effective with benzene-free, low-toxic and non-flammable solvents. Made by mixing and stirring. Its non-combustible performance meets the safety requirements of coal mine production to a certain extent, and is mainly suitable for the needs of rapid and high-strength repair of underground conveyor belts at room temperature.
The other is that the cold vulcanized cover rubber is mainly used for the cover rubber of the hot repair material. The products obtained after vulcanization can be divided into different specifications according to the thickness and width.
