Website reveals the officially approved JAMB registration fees for UTME

With an aim to enlighten those students who are looking to register for the UTME or Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, jamb.sch.ng has recently notified the actual registration amount for the exam. According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s official announcement that was posted by the site, the real payable amount for new registrants is Naira N700 only.

A spokesperson of the website expressed that this information was provided after reliable sources claimed that few centres were asking more than the approved amount from students. As per a recent statement made by the Public Relations Officer of JAMB, “Every student who wants to sit for the UTME should indeed register for the same and for this a nominal registration fee needs to be submitted. While most of the registration centres are collecting the actual fees some selfish officials are demanding more than the fixed amount.”

“We are against such corrupt practices and in order to apprise every student we are trying our level best to spread the awareness”, continued the spokesperson. He also highlighted the fact that the board will do everything possible to book those people practicing any such activities.

He added, “The board has also requested everyone to spread the information on every social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and so on. Hence, more and more students will be aware of how much they actually need to pay during registration for UTME.”

The website has also given information and details about the approved centres for the UTME registration. The spokesperson further added that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) strives for transparency and stands for academic excellence only. There was no such straightforward reply from the spokesperson when inquired about whether the board is planning on increasing the registration amount in the coming examination sessions.
