The obsession with looking more “beautiful,” more slim, more trim, more fit, more like a movie star – this is an international phenomenon. The world over, companies are manufacturing products that promise the moon and deliver only a bill of sale. The difficulty for consumers in any one country is that supplements marketed in other languages and cultures don’t often translate well. Imelda Perfect Slim is an example of a translation mishap – in this case, from Japanese to English – that makes the supplement seem like a fraud and a gimmick, whether it is or not. This is important to note – it’s not that Imelda Perfect Slim is necessarily a terrible supplement simply because it doesn’t translate well. It’s just that a poor translation makes the supplement seem like a cheap product. And maybe it is.

Imelda Perfect Slim is apparently a supplement designed to firm, “improve,” whiten, and maintain. The supplement supposedly stands out from others for its ability to aid in weight reduction, skin whitening, and toxin removal.
Ingredients At A Glance
Imelda Perfect Slim contains Ebony, Fox-nut, Tuckahoe, Semen Pruni, Dioscoreae, Wheat Germ, and Nature Substance.

It is not clear what Ebony is, if it’s not the wood. If it is the wood, it’s not clear what it’s doing in a dietary supplement.

Fox-nut, in traditional herbal medicine, is thought to strengthen the kidneys and relieve diarrhea. It may function as a diuretic. In addition, it is thought to regulate blood pressure, treat impotence and arthritis, and prevent premature aging.

Tuckahoe may refer to a medicinal mushroom used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is thought to soothe the heart and strengthen energy. Tuckahoe may also restore liver function, enhance the immune system, balance blood sugar, and boost metabolism. Of particular note for Imelda Perfect Slim is that Tuckaho may have a whitening effect on the skin.

Semen Pruni, or Apricot Seed, is used in herbal medicine as a treatment for cough and bronchitis. It may also relieve constipation.

Wheat Germ is a small, reproductive part of the wheat kernel. It may contain more protein than most meat products and is known for its high levels of potassium and iron. In addition, Wheat Germ may provide the body with riboflavin, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and vitamins A, B1, B3 (Niacin), and E. Nature Substance is exceedingly vague and almost impossible to characterize.

Pregnant or nursing women should not take this supplement. Those taking medication already should consult a physician.
